Evroklidon hail from the Ukraine - home of label-mates Holy Blood - and deliver raw, atmospheric black metal that pounds, rips, and thrashes from start to finish. The band manage to exude this primal rawness while maintaining high production standards, producing an assault on the senses that is brutal yet (in black metal terms) listenable. This really isn't music for people new to the harder end of rock, this is for serious fans of metal. If you're not a fan of black, death or goth metal, then there's probably little point you investigating this album as to the untrained ear it would sound just like noise! That aside, fans of the Scandinavian black metal bands will be able to draw comparisons with many of its finest, in fact they sound more Norwegian than East European. Were it not for the Slavic tongue peppered around the predominantly English lyrics, one could easily assume that was from where Evroklidon hailed. Lyrics-wise, there is no doubt as to what the band believe in, the lyrics talk about spiritual war (the staple diet of Christian metal acts) and the temptation of sin - with scriptural references to back it all up. Fans of the genre will salivate over a very creative duo (with a little help from their friends), creating well-produced but brutal music.

AGUANTE EVROKLIDON CARAJO!!!

The entire alblum is in Russian. The band stated when they started that they sing in Russian so that they can reach a larger audience since Ukrainian is not widely spoken outside Ukraine. Artyom and Vadim do not speak english, hence the terrible translation provided in the alblum insert and the lack of any songs in english. Just thought I would set it straight.

That being said, I consider this to be one of the most solid Black Metal acts out there. It stands among the best of Norway no problem, while having a strong atmospheric element that Ukarinian bands seem to be very good at crafting in their black metal. Evroklidon is deep in its lyrical quality, and steadfastness. It is though the Father's wisdom is enthroned upon their music.

Well worth the purchase in my opinion.
