FFH's track record is impressive - total sales of more than a million, seven number one Christian radio hits Stateside, multiple Dove Award nominations and happily there's no sign of them going stale yet. I've heard most of its precursors, but what strikes me immediately about FFH's fifth album is that it seems to have much greater edge - that's perhaps something to do with their more "hands-on" role in recording (playing their own instruments, etc) and through that they've adopted a less "squeaky clean" production style. Whether it's the energy of opener "You Drive I'll Ride", power ballads "Still The Cross" and "The Long Haul", or even the relaxed pop of "Without You", "You And Only You" and "In This Moment", FFH now appear to be a band who have both become more passionate about their music and at more ease with it. Good tunes aplenty, and the lyrical content is rock solid too - as guitarist Michael Boggs comments on the website (www.ffh.net), "We've written lots of songs and we've talked about a lot of different things. But when it comes down to it, it's still all about the cross."
