Me and my husband Tony have just spent the weekend on the padre pio Retreat,we would like to thank everybody involved especially Fr Francis for a spiritual insight of a great saint. Fr Francis was fantastic making our wedding anniversary so special, he even renewed our wedding vows. Thank you so much Fr Francis for a weekend we will never forget .

We were married in 1986 and had our honeymoon in Wales. After seeing Father Francis in concert in Lancashire a few years before we decided to go to Pentasaph to see father francis. After looking at and in the beautiful church and walking the Stations of the Cross in the grounds, we went to listen to Father Francis sing. Someone must have told him we had just got married and he singled us out and dedicated some of his songs to myself and my husband. We had a lovely time and it made my day when he asked if we would like one of his helpers to take a photo of us all together. We have a number of his LP records and a few cassettes, which I play in my car as I chose not to change to a CD player, and I still enjoy his singing even after all this time. I was sorry to hear that he was leaving Pentasaph as it is a lovely, peaceful serene place to visit. I wish all the very best to Father Francis and wish him well in all his endeavours.

4 school friends & I, sang backing vocals on 2 of Father Francis albums, 1980/1981...., we also performed at The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall , the Empire , Crosby Civic Hall Somewhere in St Helen's & a few Tv Perfomances , I think , we were 12/13 years old, I think.....?
It was great fun , making the album , the concerts etc.
It was my friends dad, Tony Marsh , whom was one of the record producers I think , at Amazon Records, Kirkby....?
So long a go , but Father has a voice , you could never forget & a strength of faith , to make you trust & believe.
Like Catherine Broadbent , I too spent many Many years in Kuala Lumpur , Singapore, China , Canada & just about to relocate again to Ireland.
This will be the closest , I have lived to England , Liverpool & St Asaph , for over 30 years.
I have every intention of visiting Father, my 3 sons have heard many stories & songs , by him & about him over the years.
I have always described Father , to my sons , as 'One great guy, representing , another great guy ', true.....,

We met Fr Francis in Exeter, Devon - he was singing in the main street. My sons aged 2 and 6 were entranced by his singing. we bought a copy of "The Old Rugged Cross" and played it every night in Malaysia after bedtime prayers. The boys for many years thought he was Saint Francis. When we met him the boys were just about to go to Malaysia and he told them he was born nearby in India - which made them feel a lot better. I would love to buy a CD of The Old Rugged Cross so Chris can play it to his own daughter born in Malaysia.

I am originally from Liverpool.
Myself & 4 other school girls did backing vocals on 2 of his
Records , 'old Rugged Cross' & ' Any dream will do '.
2 of the girls were sisters, their Dad, a producer, on the Albums.
We performed, with Fr Francis, at the Liverpool Philamonic Hall, the Empire , Crosby civic Hall, somewhere in St Helen's.
It was a huge amount of fun & a privilege.
Fr, is an exceptional man.
His voice, his words..., captivating.
The only disappointment, was that they spelt my name, incorrectly on both albums , Nuala Murphy , became Noola Murphy, then Zoola Murphy...!
Fr even let us 'autograph' the albums, at the various concerts.
One of the comments is from Catherine Broadbent, Kuala Lumpur.
I hitchhiked & ended up living there, from 1996- 2002,
Teaching, at an international school in Ampang.
Small world......!

Hi, Just thought I would let you know that we have spent a wonderful week with our visitor Father Francis Maple who has conducted a Mission for us. He has imparted the most wonderful stories from scripture - had us crying with beautiful heart-felt stories and laughing at his hilarious jokes. A fabulous week. I understand he will be returning to his Friary from here. Best wishes. Carol

Someone mentioned seeing Fr Francis at a concert in Wales some years ago so I looked him up on YouTube. There are several vids but my favourite has to be 'There But for Fortune':

Hi everyone especially Father Francis if he is looking in. I do hope you are keeping well Father. For everyone else's information I have know Farther since way back in the very early 80s, when I acquired him as an extremely valued client of my company. My company was the organisation who made 100,000s of audio cassette tapes, records and later CDs. I have some great memories of working with Father. Perhaps we one day put pen to paper Father?
Back in the mid to late 80s I gave Father a new nickname when writing up some sleeve notes, do you remember Father? For everyone it went to print, have you spotted it?
All the very best and God bless you.
