These guys must be doing something right to have their debut album named as a finalist for Best Gospel Album at the New Zealand Music Awards. The musical comparisons with Crowded House are obvious in nature and sound, but there are some moments when Matt Redman’s guitar riffs and lyrics show their influence. Felt are a four piece pop rock band led by Edwin Derricutt who wrote all the songs on the album, some of which go back to 1993 with single releases starting in 1999, so you could say this is the best of the last 10 years’ writing! The album oozes intimacy as if Edwin was playing acoustic in your front room, contrasted by an enthralling stadium atmosphere with thousands singing support. “Come To Me” is the outstanding track that completes the journey from solitude to worship with the masses. Although not suitable for worship, the lyrical content is blatantly clear with lines like “Truly I do, worship you” and “You are the reason that I live”, but subtle enough to survive in a critical mainstream. Don’t be too surprised to see these guys playing support on a worldwide stadium tour; they have the talent.

Why use an iconic Indie bands name, who have been around
since the 70's... http://www.discogs.com/artist/Felt
...it's like calling yourself "the rolling stones" ...it's a
no brainer, you just don't do it!
