Songs from the sharp edge of reality, this band  are not afraid to tell the truth, and the music isn't afraid to be heavy! From the initial blast of "Look Me In The Eye", through "Wishful Thinking" which is tough stuff about  love, to the chillingly haunted "Shadows" sung  by Dawn Heller (described by the boys in the band as 'the wind beneath their wings' - quite a tribute, but well-deserved;) her voice adds colour and tone to the group. Many of the lyrics are challenging and evangelistic in the best possible way, and tracks like "Star One" are just lovely. My favourite was "Waiting Makes Me Stronger", a real belt in the eye for Satan, that one, with soaring guitar work, great drumming and a very strong vocal! I challenge anyone to stay lukewarm after a listen to this, it would melt the though guys and give the rest of us a little of what we need to get us up on our (spiritual) feet. Great.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get The Waiting on my iPod? I do not own the CD, but it is one of my favorite albums.

I second (or third) a call for a new album. I remember seeing you guys in Lexington KY, opening for Dana Key. You rocked. I was touched. And I was the youth counselor!! :) Just pulled out the CD tonight to hear you again and Googled you!

Truly one of the finest albums of the genre - Christian or secular! Just thought I'd drop by and say that. May God continue to bless everyone involved with Fighter.... and, howsabout a new album folks?

:)

Hey Fighter fans. Thanks for your nice comments about the band. Those were good days and we enjoyed singing and bringing the message of Christ to all who would hear it! Since the CD's are out of print, we have had to get extra copies on Ebay ourselves. (Also to Rose the reviewer...FYI - 'Shadows' was sung by Amy Wolter. Dawn Heller is Bill Heller's wife and was a huge support to the group....the wind beneath our wings.)
A side note....if you are interested in buying a copy of my solo album 'Hit Me in the Heart', please e-mail Jim and I at jawolter@bellsouth.net. You can check out myspace.com/amywolter also, and Billy's website as well: www.billyheller.com. He's still playing and singing but has traded in his electric guitars for acoustics.
And to all our friends in Brazil...we love you and think of our time there often. Was just looking at some photos this morning of the SOS concert in 1993!

I've heard bits and pieces from this very talented band, but where can I purchase their CD?

Last year, I wrote the message above, because I am a admirer to the work of Fighter. It is a pity they are not playing no more.

I would be contact people who loves Fighter for an exchanging. I want to buy their cd's 'cause it is very hard to finding here in Brazil.
Best regards.

This was their best effort yet. Star One was an instant classic. This song has been a real encouragement over the years. It would be awesome if this band got back together for another album. They went before thier time..

My husband has been a Christian for almost 25 years. He's a fan of Stryper and Fighter. I never even knew they existed!! (He's a little older than me.) I fell in love with the song "Without You". I sing a little and wanted to do a special, but I don't know how to find the written music because it's so old. Any ideas?

God bless you Christopher Anderson! It was so nice to see that our ministry had the impact we hoped it would. I was the drummer/lead singer for the band Fighter. God is amazing...
