Fiona has been around for many years but has made precious few recordings, the last being a track on the multi-artist Re:lease album series. The first thing I noticed about 'Stay' was the quality of Fiona's crystal clear, intense but child-like voice. Here she is accompanied by a small band and the songs are piano-based. Many of the tracks are up-beat, like the opener "Bells Of Liberty", featuring some funky bass while spiritual warfare is the subject of the folk-tinged "When A Knight Won His Spurs". Elsewhere, "How Infinite" and "I Wait For You" could be used as congregational worship songs. "Throne Song", with its mood of the vast spaces of heaven, could be used during contemplative prayer.
