At first one has doubts. Ragged, untogether clapping from the congregation (how many live praise albums have been ruined by that?), a band balance that isn't quite right and a seriously off guitar solo, all stop the repetitive opener "Shout For Joy" from being anything but a trial of endurance. But gradually, as it unfolds, the album DOES lead one into worship and one or two moments really have the anointing of God on them. There are clearly some thrilling things going on in the French church and France's leading exponents of charismatic praise can lift an English congregation. Next time a more carefully recorded studio album ICC?
