Five-track introduction to British band Frequency. From the funky album cover I was convinced that this was going to be a dance outfit until I saw pictures of guys with guitars. Checking into Chapel Lane studios ensures (that all the correct production values are in place though the actual sound they employ is a little dated in places, for example the turgid riffing of "Once Again" sounds like something from the late 70s. The powerpop "Superpower" is slightly less dated and wins through with its exuberance. Clearly with a heart to minister and capture something of the spirit of this generation, "With All My Heart" is worship whilst "Regeneration" is a soulful anthem and probably works the best out of all the songs in this set. Workmanlike with plenty of promise but not there yet.
