Full Circle are an acoustic duo from Penarth consisting of vocalist/guitarist Phil Lewis and guitarist/bassist Nigel Wiggins. Their strength is that Phil Lewis is a songwriter with a great deal of passion and, on occasions, an angry eloquence. The weakness is that his strained singing with its occasional suspect pitching doesn't rest easy on the casual listener's ear. Now it could be said that from Dylan to Costello, great music has often been achieved by non-singers but though there's a hint of Costello in his intonation, Phil still has some way to go. The arrangements are sparse, with some welcome nice sax from Julian Wiggins (Nigel's brother) while one track was even produced by Martyn Joseph. If you catch the duo and like their songs investigate. Otherwise best find something else to purchase.
