When released in 2003, many questioned whether the loss of lead singer Chris Carrabba (who of course went on to huge mainstream success as Dashboard Confessional) would make Further Seem Forever's second full album a damp squib. In fact, thanks to some smouldering vocals from replacement Jason Gleason, some exceptional light-and-shade dynamics from the band and some inventive arrangements it is every bit the equal of 'The Moon Is Down'. In fact, the mid-tempo tunes here "Blank Page Empire" and "I Am" have the same moody emo sound and lilting verses of TMID's "Snowbirds And Townies" and "Monachett". Another standout is "Insincerity" with its catchy guitar harmonic while the closer "Aurora Borealis", which features a string section joining the wall of guitars, is equally memorable.
