Recorded live at the Gospel Music Workshop of America 2000 Convention in New Orleans, over 400 ladies' voices let rip on this recording, which comes over rather well, considering that the choir only had time for three rehearsals! There's a tight band in evidence giving the choir some strong support (although how much of this was live on the day and how much was added later by way of overdub is debatable) and with a strong set of material that's by and large the work of lesser known names in gospel music (with the notable exception of Lamar Campbell), there's plenty here to delight aficionados of the genre. Run time of over 57 minutes for 10 tracks is generous, which allows the soloists time to do plenty of wreckin', hollerin' and testifyin', and with Grammy winner Sanchez Harley in charge of production, the result is a smouldering slab of hot gospel.
