Just over a year ago the Gaither Vocal Band overhauled their group when all-star members from the group's history reunited to create the first ever five member Gaither Vocal Band. Featuring all-star singers from the group's long history: Michael English, Mark Lowry, Wes Hampton, David Phelps and founder, Bill Gaither. 'Reunited DVD' is a bit of music biz history filmed before an enthusiastic live audience at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio and features classic Gaither Vocal Band songs like "Alpha And Omega", "The Love Of God" and "Lord Feed Your Children" plus beloved Gaither-penned favourites such as "There's Something About That Name" and "He Touched Me". The album release has been reviewed on the Cross Rhythms website and covers all of the music, although this has some more tracks that are not on the CD. The DVD of course gives you the opportunity to experience the concert visually and no expense has been spared to present an exemplary performance. The singers and musicians are all at the top of their game and are clearly enjoying performing together. The crowd are all big fans and receive the songs, interludes and comic interaction with open arms and smiling faces. Particular mention should go to The Isaacs with their sensational acapella rendition of "I Will Praise Him" during which you could hear a pin drop. If you're already a fan of the Gaither Vocal Band, then I probably don't need to tell you about this DVD. If you're looking for an easy way into discovering this historic Southern Gospel group, then 'Reunited' would be a good place to start.
