Ernie Haase & Signature Sound are truly one of the biggest selling Southern gospel acts to emerge in recent years, adding a breath of fresh air with their lively concert performances and tight harmonies. The Gaither Vocal Band had joined them on their last DVD and I was really looking forward to this CD. I have to say that I was quite disappointed. The main problem is that it is a studio recording of a recently released DVD (which I have not seen) and it loses so much of the excitement that this fine group can generate in a live atmosphere. So I find it surprising that the record company has chosen to record the whole thing in this rather bland manner. The album itself is okay, containing a variety of new and well known songs, though the close-to-national-tub-thumping "America" medley moves predictably. On the plus side, there are some very nice renditions of "Sitting At The Foot Of Jesus", the song associated with Elvis's live performances: "Sweet Sweet Spirit", "Sinner's Plea", "Holy Is The Lord" and the fine opener "Great Day".
