'The River' is George's second outing and, as on his first CD 'Here I Stand' we are presented with some more heartfelt songs of faith and the Christian life. There is even a little humour injected with the song "Testament". George, who comes from Tyne-and-Wear, has given the production credits this time around to a close friend of his, Yfriday's drummer Dez Minto, who also hails from the Tyne-and-Wear area. George himself states that he is no Don Francisco or Dave Bilbrough, and while that may be true, it also gives a good indication as to some of George's influences on this CD. An album for older listeners.
