Apart from the irritation of a sleeve that nowhere indicates the order of the songs on the CD, this is a classily sung and produced album of melodic soft pop and inspirational ballads with Mr Markey writing all the songs. He has a warm, smooth vocal style, not dissimilar to Steve Green, and plays all the piano and guitars heard here. George’s lyrics are firmly in the “majesty/set me free” school of lyric writing save for one which is a decidedly schmaltz piece about his little girl “Gabriella Rose”. Not groundbreaking but easy on the ear.
