This is an album that you will either love or loath depending on whether you can tolerate vocals added on to a late singer's recordings. I must admit that it comes off better than some previous efforts I have heard (Hank Williams, Jim Reeves, Elvis Presley). It is actually a labour of love by Ernie Hasse & Signature Sound who really respected George Younce - the renowned bass singer best known for his work with the Cathedrals. Apart from the last track which is a previously unreleased version of "Silent Night", Ernie and his group add very tasteful vocal accompaniment to such songs as "Love Was In The Room", "At The Cross", "Beyond The Sunset" and my favourite "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow". It's an album that has grown on me.

Product Description

Years before Younce’s passing, he shared his vision with son-in-law Ernie Haase about a label based in their hometown of Stow, Ohio.

Unfortunately he never saw his dream come to fruition due to a battle with kidney disease that took his life in 2005. However, Haase and producer Wayne Haun believed his vision could still come to life, and in 2008, they began the work to create Stow Town Records.

“We took old masters of George’s past projects, extracted his voice and performed new tracks. When it came to back up singers, I could think of no better group than the incomparable Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. The end result leaves me speechless. It’s remarkable,” states Haun.

George Younce was adored by millions of fans, and his legacy will certainly continue with this once-in-a-lifetime release.
