There is one stone killer on this album - a mind boggling rendition of "Amazing Grace" complete with one of the most laid back raps heard for many a day. Elsewhere there is rather nice Bobby Brown pastiches on "Keep On" and "Testimony" and though not everything works on this R&B-cum-him hop concept album there is such a flamboyant effort to ring the changes in terms of black music styles that even its cheesier moments are forgivable. You will be able to read about this team in the next issue of Cross Rhythms. Spirit Music are pulling out all the stops to break them in the UK and if your tastes veer toward pirate R&B radio you need to check out God Quest.
