This is a debut album by three young guys - Mikey, CJ and Kev - from East Cleveland Baptist Church and is mixed by Yfriday's Dez Minto. The outcome is an excellent collection of 10 self-written rock songs, plus the fun bonus "Good Question" rap remix at the end. The writing, song construction, musicianship and vocal show a maturity beyond their years. They've even already developed their own recognisable sound. Whilst guitar-driven, the band also include songs gentler on the ear, such as the title track, "Little Late" and "Lonely Child". Throughout, their lyrics have depth and are clearly inspired by the band's experiences and relationships. For instance "Abbie" isn't directly about a lady of that name but she clearly was the genesis for an excellent song. Another standout is "Betrayed", about the crucifixion. It begins and ends with spoken voice and manages to be effective, not cheesy. If their live performance is up to this album's standard, the future's good - no question.
