Although not credited on the front sleeve, 'Grace' is the second album by YFC duo Jon Birch and Jonny Baker. Well mixed and produced, this album, a kind of ambient worship concept, has everything from whistley flutes to squeaky animals, with some catchy one line songs, to others taking on deeper messages of God's love and, surprisingly, grace! My only gripe would be Jon Birch's voice on lead vocals, which is fine for a few songs, but does appear to lose its expression after a while. If ambient-style worship is what you're after, it does achieve what it sets out to do. They also promise sheet music if you want to liven up your worship sessions. Having said all the above, I must guide all listeners to the "Lay Your Burdens Down" track. It's a gem and its UCB Cross Rhythm's exposure is well deserved.
