This is the debut solo album from the Californian singer/songwriter about whom you can read on the CR website. The maturity of her voice conveys a deep emotional connection with lots of life experience packed into the lyrics. The songs are essentially soft pop in style prompting comparisons to Twila Paris and Michelle Tumes. Highlights include the slow burner "God's Love Will Never Change" and the hypnotic march "The Battle" which describes the spiritual warfare between darkness and light. The up tempo "Prince Of Peace" has a strong enough melody to become a worship standard and "Standing On The Word Of God" is an encouragement to stay strong in adversity. There are flecks of country, pop, stage musicals and gospel in this compelling and well produced first project but slightly too many styles to make a cohesive whole.
