Hamilton Christian Centre is a church in Hamilton, just outside Cincinatti, Ohio. Under the direction of the music minister Rev Derwin Ward, this 2001 album appears to be their only recording. Musically, the style is obviously North American, in a stereotypical white Pentecostal gospel genre that many will recognise as similar to early Hillsong. As an independent recording the quality is professional, with powerful gospel lead vocals supported with harmonious strong choral backing such as on "I Love You Lord" and "You're The Only Living God". Instrumentally a simple digital piano with uncomplicated soulful kit drumming combine to provide a strong musical foundation. The occasional clapping at the end of tracks is the only clue that the album is a live recording. With a variety of lead vocalists across the tracks there is freshness and vibrancy maintained throughout. Better than most church-based recordings.
