Before joining Replenish as their bass player, Harun Kotch fronted the south coast band Mr E. Always a talented songwriter, this solo album seems to gather up tracks from what was probably going to be the next Mr E album and mixes it with more acoustic material. 'In Three Minds' is probably about right for a title to convey the schizophrenic mixture of songs here. Harun carries it all off pretty well with enough here to keep the interest. I particularly liked the light pop melody of "Poverty" whilst "Song About You", which is just guitar and vocals, is captivating with its simplicity. Not sure about the short 90 second instrumentals or the bass duet with Mark Prentice but closing song "Liberty" more than makes up for it with its extended coda. Nice side project if rather too disjointed and unfocussed to be taken too seriously although a good reminder of Harun's talents.
