Reviewed by Peter Dilley Compared with some of the "original artist" contemporary worship double CD compilations, such as 'I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever', 'Simply Worship' or 'Songs 4 Worship', the more anonymous versions of worship songs on the 'Heart Of Worship' albums seem a bit tame. On the other hand, I'd sooner listen to these than some of the older archive material on some of the 'Power Praise' albums, and the presence of Aaron Frith (Sabio) beefs up the vocals in places - a stronger sound in general than on Kingsway's '500 Series', which uses almost the same team of musicians. With a 30-song complement, each 'Heart Of Worship' volume picks up the more popular "new" songs as they are adopted in our churches, balancing the song mix with a few oldies too. 'Volume 3' goes for the likes of Tim Hughes' Dove Award winner "Light Of The World", "Give Thanks To The Lord" (Chris Tomlin), "The Father's Song" and "Jesus, Be The Centre", then begins to step back in time with "I Will Offer Up My Life", "How Deep The Father's Love", "To Be In Your Presence", and even "Majesty". Not sparkling, but good value and plenty to work with as a "How does that song go?"-type resource for everyday church musicians.
