About 18 months ago when reviewing 'Heart Of Worship Vol 8', I wrote that "Volume 9 will surely follow" - and, indeed, it has. Another double album has been put together by studio-seasoned producer Christopher Norton, with a selection of the songs that are being sung in churches around the land. The songs are by such gifted songsmiths as by Darlene Zschech, Lynn DeShazo, Reuben Morgan, Geoff Bullock and others while the covers here, recorded in studios in the UK (Manchester, Seaford) and USA (Seattle, Washington) and bolstered by the good people of Bury Christian Fellowship are adequate enough. But there's so much of this kind of worship music available on CD now that it's difficult trying to find something different to say about it beyond that, on occasions the vibe given is of a worship song production line. 30 songs is value for money yes, but if you have many worship albums in your collection you will already possess some better versions of these congregational favourites than the ones you've got here.
