They are known as HP2C for short (or long, if you have to pause and figure it out); they play regular gigs in the San Francisco Bay area and one of the tracks on this CD, "Little Bit Of Heaven", is getting a lot of airplay on radio stations in the area. For my money it's nowhere near the best track here, but it's smooth and accessible. Powers' voice is clear, with a nice throaty catch and plenty of flexibility and power. She goes for the indie-style vocal catch/slide, but without overdoing it for the genre. This is melodic, well produced stuff. Standout track? "Five Years Old" - a thoughtful, whimsical blessing that seems the most personal song on the album.
