A second full album from HiFlyer is said to be in the pipeline, but for the moment a four-song EP should be sufficient to keep people interested in this Bristol-based outfit. At the band's core is the brother/sister pairing of Henry and Elle Williams, and as soon as the Coldplay-influenced piano and guitar intro of "Left Behind" gives way to the vocals, it's clear that Elle's talents as lead singer are at least as pivotal to HiFlyer's appeal as the musicianship of the rest of the band. Elle follows this up with accomplished performances on "Chasing Rainbows" and "Lakes Of Tears" - confident and emotionally-charged, but definitely not overblown. Rounding the EP off in a slightly lighter mood, there's a hint of Annie Lennox/Eurythmics influence in the guitar-driven sounds and vocal harmonies of "He Doesn't Know". Pretty classy soft rock/pop.
