I must admit, I always dread reviewing these kind of products. It's obvious that these are God's people really wanting to capture a spirit of worship that was no doubt in evidence at the event, but as they say.you really had to be there. That aside, the music takes a fairly safe pop style, whilst bands, lead singers and choir all do their job well enough. (I'd love to tell you who they are but the sleeve offers no credits for any of the musos.) A lot of these songs were new to me (a very positive aspect of Australia's church is the fact that they have really gone for writing their own music, and guys like Geoff Bullock has become to Australia what Kendrick and Richards are to the UK) and "My Heart Sings Praises" is quite beautiful; while "Steppin' Out" safely rocks. Good also to see they included some kids on stage- us adults often overlook the little-un's when we get "serious" about worship! So, all in all, at ain't MTV, it doesn't have micro second edits, but then, it ain't trying to be, and if you want to watch some worshippers rather than listen, this could be what you are after.
