There's been a steady trickle of live praise albums emanating from Word and Kingsway which demonstrate that it's that particular sub-continent who are pioneering rock music praise. While most of the British and American praise and worship industry is still inclined to wimp out, keeping the rhythm sections down in the mix and the power chords and air guitar solos to a minimum, our Aussie brothers and sisters, or at least the radical fellowships getting their albums released here, take on the full hard rocking armoury of AOR to shout praises to God. All the songs here stem from the worship group's leader and pianist Geoff Bullock and only one, from the Maranatha! Music album 'The Great Southland', is familiar to my ears. What they lack in subtlety they make up for in exuberance while one of the worship ballads "Hear Me Calling" with a beautiful acappella intro from Darlene Zschech is a gem. Recommended to radical worshippers.
