This recording made in the late '80s was originally unreleased, only being discovered recently in a garage during removals. Now remastered by Bill Menchen (Titanic, Final Axe), His Witness serve up an album of classic '80s melodic metal. For a recording of its era, production values have stood the test of time and although the overall sound is a little thin at times, quality shines through with some detailed guitar work, in the style of Dennis Cameron (Angelica), and rich vocals. Ken Redding has a voice that is at times reminiscent of Ken Tamplin while fans of Bloodgood and Sacred Warrior will also be able to pick out their hero's influences in the chunky riffs and sing along choruses presented here. Standout cuts include the groove rock influenced "Last Days" and the hook laden title track. Lyrically, His Witness are straight forward and honest with their Christian beliefs. You rarely hear an altar call and believer's prayer included on a studio album but here they are. This is a polished recording that deserves the airing afforded it by this release. Fans of the early days of American Christian metal should give this album a listen. It will bring back some fond memories.
