I'm never entirely sure who gets to decide which songs are "hits", but this collection brings together 10 popular worship songs of the past few years written by such luminaries as Paul Baloche ("Above All"), David Crowder ("Wholly Yours") and Chris Tomlin ("How Great Is Our God", "Forever", "Famous One"). Producer Craig Adams has put together some fine upbeat arrangements and then encouraged a group of children to sing along. Compared with many albums of similar kids' music, this is pretty good, although the children never sound quite as enthusiastic as you might expect. There are scores of albums like this available (just surf through the Cross Rhythms reviews to track them down), so the buyer's choice will depend on such things as the selection of songs on the disc, the attractiveness of the artwork (not brilliant on this example, it has to be said) or the insistence of the small person tugging at your sleeve in the Christian retailer. There's nothing to make this set of songs stand out from all the others, but the producer has put quite a reasonable album together.
