Edmund R Griffin has spent many years as a sidesman on a variety of projects but I first came across his music when I reviewed 1998's 'Drive By Hymns' which was recorded to raise money for the building fund of his church. This album comes from 2002 and has finally washed up here in the UK for review. The yellow smiley cover may make you think you're going to get an ecstasy fuelled dance track but instead what you get is a mixture of tame house music and gospel vocals and themes. Nothing new then. If Griffin had released this album in 1986, it would have been cutting edge. But nearly 20 years on, unless you have a faint pandering for Colonel Abrams or Steven "Silk" Hurley then this is a little past its sell by date.
