Sound Of Cathedral House represents the expression of corporate worship of Huddersfield Christian Fellowship, a thriving church which formed in the late '80s with just a handful of people. This is a two-CD recording (34 tracks, just over two hours of music) of a live worship event from June 2011 and is an exuberant combination of new and established songs and hymns, delivered with a seamless and almost breathless flow one to the next. The choir is big, the band is big (complete with brass and string sections), the congregation is big, the pace is relentless pretty much throughout and with a sprinkling of surprising acappella sections and key changes this is an energetic feel-good offering in every sense.

Product Description

Sound of Cathedral House captures the heart of Huddersfield Christian Fellowship in passionate corporate worship with a couple of studio bonus tracks added in for good measure and listening pleasure.

From the start of Deny Myself to the end of Lift Up Jesus, this double CD album is an honest expression of the typical exuberance of this cross-cultural congregation in a series of regular Sunday services recorded ‘undercover’ in June 2011.

The combination of unified worshippers and the flow of new songs and psalms, fresh hymns and spiritual songs, reflects the eternal values that are held so dear: thanksgiving, gratitude, faith, relationship, outreach, obedience and total surrender to our glorious Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

These strong foundations have seen the congregation grow from just a handful of people in the late 1980s into the thriving generational church that it is today under the courageous and faithful leadership of Colin and Sue Cooper.

Cathedral House is situated in the heart of the local community in Huddersfield and is the home of Huddersfield Christian Fellowship.

Honestly, taking a chance on this double CD was a bit of a risk, but at the price it seemed like one worth taking. Fantastically, this album has turned out to be so fresh and familiar at the same time and quite different from the general sound out there in the marketplace at the moment. There is such exuberance, quality, honesty, detail and variety that I haven't been able to stop playing it! There are many stand out moments including the two lead songs, some old favourites and the stunning bonus tracks. This will be one of those albums I come back to again and again! Try it for yourself - it will be the best £9.97 you have spent in a while!
