No faulting the passion of H:yper Life who are dedicated to expressing the abundant life (the hyper-life, if you will) that is to be found in knowing Jesus, Played with great enthusiasm without really breaking any new musical ground, H:yper-Life make a joyful noise with arrangements that sometimes feel a little too cluttered and production that is struggling against the constraints of budget. Those quibbles aside, there are some good moments captured here-1 love the drive of "Misshapen Reality" and the delivery of the sensitive acoustic ballad "The Answer". There's also an excellent atmospheric version of the classic "When I Survey" (Iona style!) which really works. Uncompromising lyrically and a band who are destined to get out there and make a difference, this CD is a good introduction to the work of H:yper Life but I forecast that there's better to come.
