No hype with the title of this album. A collection of the finest songs from Ian White's Psalms' series. Although every fan of the man will quibble because one of their favourites isn't here, it must have been a hard job pruning this down to its 17 tracks. Excellent value for money and a bucketful of classics recorded in three continents over 12 years with a variety of production budgets! It's probably true to say that Ian has often managed to overcome the restrictions of budget with a combination of songwriting talent and the musical input of some inspired friends! Here, producer Peter Beveridge selected the songs and even produced a new track, "Psalm 116" which opens the album. There are some fine pop moments on "Watch Over Me" and "Look To The Lord" which contains a great sax solo! There's more spine tingling sax on "Psalm 49" from Martin Green. The presence of Chris Eaton is everywhere in the wings adding support to lan's oeuvre. Occasionally. he comes to the fore as on "Psalm 21" to play an exquisite piano solo, possibly one of his most anointed performances ever! All this combines to give Ian a platform to create some of the most beautiful and most overlooked worship of the last decade. I mean, is there anything more gorgeous than his version of "Psalm 124"?
