The Imari Tones are the original Japanese Christian metal band and this is their 13th album, released in 2007. Okay, so we're a little late getting on board here but better late than never, eh? The overall production sound is not great though there's enough here to interest rock fans even beyond the simple notion that this band exist at all! The songs are message and ministry focussed and the band clearly have a mission to rock fans. The opening "Winning Song" is a high powered start (there's also a Japanese version to close the album) and other highlights include the crunching "That's Why I Love You" which has some great guitar work. I also enjoyed the funkier feel of "Juku Shiki". Largely recorded in English, this album works best when the band are rocking as the slower numbers draw attention to the weakness of some of Tak's vocals.
