The veteran Celtic rock fusion band's decision to remaster their catalogue of groundbreaking albums and make them available through ICC leaves long term devotees of Christendom's most successful Celtic band with a dilemma. Do I shell out for these improved versions or stay with the CDs that have served me so well down the years? Certainly, the remastering of this live album, where the All Souls Orchestra add orchestral flourish to classics like "Dancing On The Wall", "Lindisfarn" and "Beyond These Shores" brings a new dynamic to the rich and emotive proceedings. When recorded at London's Royal Festival Hall on May 29th, 1999 the sound engineers wisely put all the emphasis on the interplay between Hogg, Bainbridge, Donockley, Barker and Van Essen and their accompanying symphonians and the polite audience are only heard in the distance. It sounded good then, it sounds great now.
