This genial singer is a popular figure through the Gaither Homecoming concerts. Having a fine clear singing voice, you cannot fail to enjoy his songs, but the problem I find with him is that he doesn't really possess an individual style. The 16 tracks featured on this album are mainly fine songs save for the embarrassingly jingoistic "The Statue Of Liberty" and "God Bless The USA". Otherwise you cannot fail to enjoy such a rousing intro as "Then He Said Sing"; "Rise Again" and the very powerful "I Can Only Imagine" are two other standout tracks. Parker is a well respected member of the Southern gospel fraternity, but I do feel that he lacks a bit of musical direction as with many of his recordings they don't seem to following any particular pattern.
