You might well have already heard "Grow" from this album by a hugely talented American independent artist. It's been played quite a bit on Cross Rhythms radio. Blessed with a lovely voice and an ability to write revealing personal songs, JJ isn't really doing anything we haven't heard before but she is doing it very well! Driven by acoustic guitar and sensitive backing, the light production allows the songs to breathe and you get Heller front and centre. Highlights include "Little Things" which reminds us that small acts of kindness can change the world, "When You Come Back", "Small" and "Little Things" (the latter three all having been chosen for Cross Rhythms airplay). Other delights are "Grow" which immediately introduces you to the playfulness of Heller's delivery, and "Fly Away" where JJ goes in a full-on country direction complete with twangy guitar! The title track is upbeat with Heller addressing Jesus and embracing his grace. Ultimately, Heller is a great singer and songwriter and there are emotional sparks that fly revealing a heart that in brokenness is crying out to God. It's a mix of moving moments dressed in gorgeous tunes.
