Over the last few years J Moss has, of course, become a key figure in urban gospel both with his own albums and with his work with top production team PAJAM. His latest set kicks off with a real stormer, "God's Got It", which with a seriously funky groove, robust faith lyrics and a velvet-smooth vocal from James has all the elements to make an urban gospel hit. The second song, "Imma Do It" (ie, I'm doing it), is almost as good. However, from track three onwards momentum seems to diminish as Mr Moss endeavours to appeal to those with more traditional gospel tastes. Occasionally it works well enough. "Good Day" with Karen and Kierra Sheard is an extremely catchy song that will stick in your head and "Caught Up In Love" is beautiful in its simplicity. Also, the foot tapping "The Prayers" featuring Hezekiah Walker & LFC and Dorinda Clark-Cole has its moments. But one can't help thinking that there are more than a few fillers here.
