There is a growing number of Christian bands who are taking their music career in their own hands and Jacob's Ladder are one of such bands. The boys have had a fair bit of publicity having played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and have also had a lot of airplay up in bonnie Scotland. I have to say that the tape lacks the top end sparkle found in a number of 'pro' recordings, nevertheless it is of good quality and has some hooks you could hang your hat on with well crafted, melodic songs. This album reminds me of the House Martins, it's got that indie acoustic rock feel to it with jangly guitars. I feel this band would go places and deserve attention from record companies all over the country. The best track to me is "Father Father".
