Years back James Ward had a couple of excellent soul-tinged rock gospel albums released here, via the old Pilgrim/Marshalls which showed that not only was he an excellent gravel-voiced rocker but wrote lyrics demonstrating a man with something between-the-ears. Then he disappeared totally from view and now returns thanks to the Stirling efforts of Holland's Spark Music, who've picked up this album for James' own Music Anno Domini company. It was well worth the effort. Contemporarily arranged with a nice meaty drum sound, some sparking synth work (from James himself) and some free-flowing sax work from one Dan Bockert make it an exceptionally arranged and produced set while the songs are excellent from praise-tinged ballads through to full tilt rockers. Don't let this man disappear from view again.
