Roll-up all you lovers of Lifehouse, Telecast and Sonicflood. Jeff Anderson's debut CD is an enjoyable listen if you are a fan of moderate intensity rock. Highlights are the more upbeat numbers and include first single "Open My Eyes", "I Will Follow" and "I'm So Alive". As an album, this is good with Jeff skilfully blending progressive pop rock and a punchy rhythm section akin to the creative likes of Coldplay or Keane. The passionate rock flavouring makes this a grow-on-you item and demonstrates what more than one critic has suggested, that Anderson has brought a kind of unity to the "singer/songwriter" and "worship leader" labels. Jeff Anderson is currently a youth worship leader in Columbus, Ohio, with a youth group of over 2000 kids; I imagine that his songs and musical gifting are appreciated for what they are in this context. It's never easy for any new artist to gain the attention of the album buyer but this singer's take on modern worship is so transparently heartfelt it will surely catch more than a few ears and hearts.
