This recording follows a small but steady line of instrumental piano recordings such as the Meadowlark recordings of the '80s , Maranatha's Classical Praise Piano in the early '90s and more recently Adrian Snell's 'Solo' and Alliance's Inspirational Piano Moods. What is different here is the music is designed to encourage prayer and intercession, and was in fact recorded while people prayed in another room, Jeff heard the prayers through the headphones and fashioned sounds to fit the prayers! The result? The piano playing is beautiful although it has a slight tendency to repeat itself. If listened to as a piece of music alone, it has the danger of becoming musak. However, if used as intended, along with the prayers in the sleevenotes for example, I feel it can become an encouragement to prayer and at times I felt uplifted as I listened in this frame of mind...
