An album that works on two levels. First there are the gravelly voiced tracks of Alex full of infectious bonhomie but only two standout, the exceedingly catchy "There Are Many Ways To Jesus" and the turbulently bluesy "His Justice Will Be Done". There is a steady hand at the production rudder in the person of Andy Piercy (for whom I won't do the by now yawn-inducing ex-After The Fire bit...whoops). But the tracking order isn't quite right and more emphasis should have been put on Jenny Legg. For in this singer British Christian music has a fine new talent. When Jenny Legg steps up to do lead vocals, like on the beautiful ballads "Not Enough Dreams" and "Father God", the effect is spine tingling with the dear sister possessing a voice every bit as spirit-effecting as Susan Ashton or Kelly Willard. Forget the cliches about small budget British albums not being as big budget American ones. Get in on a new name at ground, grassroots level.
