'Destiny' is Jermaine's self-penned and self-produced album and within the growing field of gospel reggae it definitely has its moments. The groovy "Take It Back" has a definite rock tinge and a punchy chorus proclaiming, "I'm gonna take what the Devil stole from me". The album takes an R&B turn with "I Give Up" with its admission on the chorus of, "I give up all my fleshly dreams". One of the standout collaborations, with the help DJ Nicholas, is "Lift Jesus Higher" with a hand-clapping arrangement of the old time favourite. Throughout the Jamaican songsmith's lyrics are more than solid with one particular telling line from "Holy Spirit Walk With Me" being "I don't want to feel your presence only when I'm in a church". Overall a very positive, well executed, uplifting set of gospel reggae songs.
