Everyone enjoys a good “knees up” every now and then, and this album certainly inspires the worship party vibe. The collection of well known Southern gospel and traditional spiritual songs, such as “I Go To The Rock” and “Because He Lives” provides an album rich in diversity. Jessy Dixon has also included some unusual material such as a gospel arrangement of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, which showcases some inspirational string arrangements. Some of the musical arrangements show influences of country music and laid back Southern soul. Dixon uses the backdrop of thick, treacle-style choir harmonies to create a strong lead vocal, which has the listener singing along with the CD!
