Subtitled '15 Great New Worship Songs For Kids', what you get here is a set of recordings produced by Andy and Wendy Green and featuring a bunch of vocalists (including Andy and Wendy and the renowned David Lyle Morris) along with the children of Potter's House Christian School, Bury. The songwriters here include such well known figures as Julia Plaut and John Pantry as well as Pete Kirk and James Emmerson (who also add their vocal talents to the project). The resulting songs are very sing-able, express some profound truths in simple language. "God Gave Us A Beautiful World" emphasises our stewardship of creation by encouraging children to save energy and go green. "A Harsh Word Stirs Up Anger" conveys self-control, forgiveness and reconciliation in ways that children can understand. Though the title track is very reminiscent Nigel Hemming's "Great Big God" you'd be wrong to assume that these tracks are all imitations of other children's songs - they are, in fact, refreshingly original. There are also 15 backing tracks for the kids to sing to once they have learnt the songs and are ready to go. This album easily stands alongside some of the better known children's worship albums.
