A compilation of songs to accompany The Beginners Bible (a best selling children's book) with vocals by Jodi Benson, the voice of Disney's 'The Little Mermaid'. I can imagine that any child who had a copy of The Beginners Bible would be delighted to receive a copy of this album and would be able to associate the various songs with the stories -included with the lyrics are the corresponding page numbers. On the whole, the songs are lively and vividly portray the atmosphere of the narrative. The vocals are clear and precise and the instrumental accompaniments are inspiring. I particularly enjoyed the track "Here In My Heart", which portrays a mother talking to her young child, expressing her thoughts about him growing up and how it makes her feel. Beautifully sung, it really captured my imagination, as did most of the other tracks. My only real criticism of this album concerns the illustrations on the sleeve which do not really do justice to the content and may deter some from choosing it.
