Jodi Benson is a sweet-voiced singer with an impressive pedigree (Disney's Little Mermaid). But as well as singing here she "acts" with a dopey-voiced chap in a rubber turtle suit. After some preliminary banter she's sitting down with five kiddywinkers telling them a true story about a Brett Butler (who?) who, it seems, overcame shortness of stature to become "one of the biggest hitters in the major league." Then she mimes a song (badly) on a trampoline. The ditty is about confidence, one of the three themes, the other two being sickness and honesty. I'm not certain that exposure to the repetitive refrain "Yes I can do it/'cause all things are possible/with God on my side" will deliver many kids from shyness but the intention is good. The interaction between Jodi and Wally is stilted but at least they seem to be enjoying it. Next up is a story about Whitney, a young girl diagnosed with the HIV virus. The lesson follows that God loves us and has a very special plan for us. Then comes "The Good Guys" where a group of boys find a purse and demonstrate that honesty is the best policy. All in all, for a teaching aid for tiny tots this is okay, though it would have been better without the Americanisms and with better songs.
