This album could only have been recorded in California as it has that unique laid back, blissed out feel that comes from too many happy days in the sun! There was a time when all Christian music sounded like this because so much came from the West Coast! It's vertical worshippy lyrics with celebratory upbeat grooves, a big horn section and a bit of jazz thrown in. It actually sounds like it could easily have been recorded in 1983 as a contemporary album! Instead you get a pleasant worship album that avoids the blandness and hype of so much stuff that comes out of America these days. "He's Coming For You" is a boppy, poppy closer and "Celebration" has an understated groove that no doubt gets the folks at Calvary Chapel on their feet. The result is smoothly produced and Joel has a knack for creating memorable melodies so the title cut is annoyingly infectious, adding some audio sunshine to my dull winter morning.
